WESTON — The Lewis County Commission received an update Monday on the county’s comprehensive plan for the future as well as a quarterly report on the Convention and Visitors Bureau. Jane Lew Mayor Charlie Straley, who is also chairman of the Lewis County Planning Commission, said the county comprehensive plan draft has been created.
The plan was generated with the assistance of Mike Dougherty of West Virginia University Extension Service and his group of masters students, Straley said.
In a hearing held prior to the completion of the draft document, citizens named several priorities. They included cell phone communication problems, water and sewer infrastructure, transportation, land use and housing, Dougherty said. Following the public hearing in about 45 days, changes may be made to the plan before the final draft is presented to the county commission, which also will conduct a public hearing.
